Lorcan Lucey was born in Washington, DC, in 1963. He attended St Johns Military High School and earned a BS in Finance from Indiana University in 1984. He began is career in bar soap sales for Proctor and Gamble before moving to Charleston in 1985.
He opened Lucey Mortgage Corporation in 1990 and became one of the largest mortgage lenders in South Carolina. Lorcan believes customer service has been the cornerstone of his success.
Lorcan is an avid cyclist, walker, and general sports enthusiast. He believes in giving back to the community through charity sponsorships.
He is also a former Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana, Maryknoll Volunteer in Oaxaca, Mexico, Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camps US and Ireland, MUSC Camp Bluebird, Camp Happy Days, and numerous other organizations.
In 2011 Lorcan received a double lung transplant at MUSC. He supports many of MUSC’s efforts, along with serving with the mother of his organ donor on the board of The Jonathan Foundation for Teens in Florence, SC.
